What Is Wi Co

What is WiCo?

WiCo is a technological solution designed to support (and not replace) human communication, collaboration and productive work on societal issues.

How is WiCo developed?

  • use-inspired and practice-driven information and collaboration system for societal work

What are the fundamental characteristics of WiCo?

  • High utility: this tool makes group work considerably more efficient. It also enables things that were previously simply not affordable or feasible to most groups. High functional and symbolic benefit at no cost.
  • Low complexity: the software is conceived to minimize the difficulty to use it or adapt to it.
  • High interoperability:
  • Maintainability: this tool is highly fixeable and maleable.
  • High transferability: it builds on and is designed to support routines and practices of real-life societal groups and organisations. It support those groups in generating the same documents they currently use (e.g. minutes of meetings). This makes it also very simple to transfer back to the old working style if the technology isn't satisfactory.
  • High group supportability: the tool has been designed in collaboration with effective societal groups in order to best support internal processes of such teams. Specifically, the tool enables:
    • Parallelism
    • Transparency: the technology makes individual group members' work easily visible and modifiable by other group members
    • Sociality: the technology enables group members to socialize and develop relationships and thereby establish a "strong knowledge network".
    • Accountability:

in the group context

  • Simplicity: no double work, no double typing
  • Quality: technology adds a level of structure to the task, provides a standardized representation of the problem, and thus, results in higher quality solutions or better decision-making performance.
